I have another thought. As always it is easy to do.
Thought #3 is Take a daily Probiotic
I am sure you have heard about probiotics. They are the good guys, the good bacteria that our gut needs to do their job, to beef up our immune systems and keep us healthy.
We should be able to get all these good bacteria we need for a healthy body from our food. Sadly, that is really hard to do these days, Our soil is being depleted of minerals and bacterias that help to keep our food full of necessary nutrients. Fermented foods are a wonderful source of probiotics and prebiotics, but as a population we are eating fewer and fewer of them. That coupled with the increasing availability of non- food foods. Foods that are marketed as good for us, but contain lots of unecessary sugar, transfats and fillers . All of these non-food foods contain just what feed the bad bacteria in our guts. The bad bacteria overgrows and then overtakes the good bacteria and the result is belly troubles.
What can we do??!! Most of us try really hard to eat a healthy diet, but sometimes we need a little help. I am talking about a probiotic supplement. A daily probiotic supplement can provide many benefits.
Just a few of them are:
- support a health immune system
- helps to reduce inflammaiton
- enhances nutrient absorption
- encourages good sleep
- helps with weight loss
- feeds the good bacteria
If you are going to start taking a probiotic start slowly. Most non refrigerated brands advise starting with 1-2 daily. Start slowly, 1 capsule every other day for a week or two. See how your body tolerates it. (Sometimes there is some intestinal discomfort when starting a new regime.) After 2 weeks try taking 1 capsule daily and see how you feel. If you feel discomfort go back to every other day and try daily again in another week. Hang in there. It is worth it.
