Hello-
How did your week go with lemon water? Did you like it? Did you hate it? Either way, now you know if it is something for you.
Are you ready for my next thought?
Eat Your Self Young Thought #2
Add Some Gelatin to Your Diet
I am not really talking about Jell-o. I am talking about a product called Collagen Peptides.
Collagen Peptides is a dried powered substance that is made by dehydrating animal (usually cow) bones, skins, and some tissues and then ground into a powder. I know that sounds just awful, but is is odorless and tasteless, and dissolves completely in hot or cold water, I promise.
Collagen Peptides by Vital Proteins, Blue Top. Available on Amazon as well as some health food stores.
Now that we are past the icky part, let’s talk about what adding gelatin to your diet can do for you.
- helps seal and heal your gut
- helps build strong bones
- aids in nail and hair growth
- called “Nature’s Botox” because it helps reduce and prevent wrinkles
- eases joint pain
- might even improve sleep quality
OK you say, I am intrigued. How do I use it?
There are so many ways to sneak gelatin into your diet. You can add a scoopful to you coffee or tea in the morning. You can add a scoop or two to sauces and soups. Throw a scoop into pancake and waffle batters. ( I haven’t tried to add it to a cake type batter, but if you do please let me know if it worked).
My favorite way to add gelatin to my diet is to make my morning Matcha tea and add a scoop of collagen peptides and whip the whole thing up in a blender. It created a frothy layer on top and is just delightful.
Please let me know if you tried this thought and if you liked it. Also, I would love any suggestions you might have for future thoughts.
Enjoy! Susan xoxo
