There is something about the beginning of the new year. The promise
of change and hope. That is why so many of us make resolutions to
conquer the world during the month of January. I know, I know…
resolutions don’t turn into reality most of the time. It happens to
me too. This year rather than make a bunch of well intentioned
resolutions I have decided to try to live a more mindful, well-
intentioned life and I invite you to take that journey
with me. I am calling this journey Eat Yourself Young (EYY).I have
made a list of 52 thoughts and will be sharing a new thought with you each week. These thoughts cover all kinds of actions to try for 1 week. (Don’t worry, I will still be creating and sharing easy healthy recipes.)
So here are the rules:
(there really are no rules)
Read the thought and try it!
If putting the thought into action for the week makes you smile more, feel a little bit better and/or more engaged and mindful maybe you will want to continue using that thought and really incorporate it into you life/lifestyle. If it isn’t for you, drop that one and try the next week’s thought.
Eat Yourself Young Thought #1
Drink Lemon Water Daily
Simply squeeze 1/2 of a lemon into a glass of water and sip away. Some feel that they prefer warm water, some prefer cold. Some experts recommend room temperature water. Do what you like because any lemon water is better than no lemon water.
This simple drink is so good for you. It can do so much for your health:
- Big blast of vitamin C—almost 90% of the RDA
- aids in digestion—stimulates digestive juices
- helps keep skin bright and elastic—fights free radicals
- aids in weight loss—the pectin in lemons helps to keep you feeling full longer
These are just some of the benefits. Bottoms Up!!! xoxo–Susan
