I am in Chicago watching my kids prepare a phenomenal Thanksgiving Day feast. As I sit here with my feet up, not cooking, mostly enjoying a glass ( or two) of a really nice wine, thinking about all the blessings in my life, I start to wonder if a nice detox, light breakfast might just be in order tomorrow morning. Maybe a delicious fruit and veggie smoothie. Berries, cucumbers apple and kale. I think this is just the ticket. This smoothie is only fruit and vegetables. If you wanted to add protein powder or a raw pastured egg that would be just fine.
Ingredients
2-3 large kale leaves torn, stems removed
2 stalks celery chopped
1/2 cucumber, chopped
1 apple chopped ( cored or not, your choice)
1 cup frozen berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
1 cup almond milk or filtered water
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until desired consistency is reached.
Enjoy and let you body thank you for the post holiday reprieve. xoxo
